Silver Birch Logs - less than 20% Moisture Content
Silver Birch has been used traditionally in the Baltic and Scandinavian countries for over a century and is the preferred log for wood burning stoves and fireplaces.
The Birch found in these countries differs to the kind of Birch that UK customers are used to.
Where as Birch in the Uk tends to grow as a scrub tree on heathland and is an evasive species in many UK commercial plantations, in Baltic countries it grows commercially as a timber tree and has many uses similar to coniferous plantations in the UK. Birch is harvested for timber production for use in floors and furniture and the lower quality element is used for firewood.
When Kiln Dried this firewood is perfect for the UK market – providing an easy lighting wood with a clean bright flame – an ideal partner for todays modern wood burning stoves.
The new stock will be available from June 2012 supplied in
