Where does the fuel-wood come from?

Logs are produced from the resides of harvesting operations in Södra owned FSC – PEFC certified link forests

What species of tree are used to produce these logs?

The trees used to produce this premiuim product is 85% Oak
The remaining 15% is Beech – Ash – Birch

100 % Birch can be supplied on request.

How are the logs dried?

Harvested timber is not processed straight away it can take up to 6 months before it is processed into Logs

When processed the Logs are crated and placed and seasoned outside for 6 – 8 weeks and then placed in kilns that use waste wood as a fuel to provide the heat for drying. It takes up to 10 days to ‘Kiln Dry’ the premium fuelwood to an average of 20% moisture content.

Production capacity for 2.1 M3 pallets is 500 per week
Over 2000 per month are currently exported to Denmark from South Sweden.
